1,000 Paws of Great Falls – Chewie

“We adopted Chewie on August 1, 2020 after having lived in Great Falls for a little over a year. COVID was taking its toll on human interaction so I was looking for a companion. 

“When I first saw that Chewie was at the Maclean-Cameron Animal Adoption Center his name was Barkley and he had the sweetest face! He was about a year old and a mixed breed; which I later found to be Pudelpointer, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Bulldog, and German Shepherd. 

“The adoption process was extremely easy and the questionnaire and application matched me great with Chewie’s personality, but at the time, I didn’t realize how perfect the match would be.

“He loves his toys, treats, lounging in the sunshine, and jumping fences! He’s pretty sneaky and even if it doesn’t seem like he’ll bolt at the first opportunity, I’m never surprised when I spend at least half an hour trying to find him. Luckily, when he gets tired or thirsty, he comes back home. 

“He’s currently living with his fur-dad, James, because I’m in South Korea and he’s having the time of his life! Chewie’s taken some obedience classes since his ‘gotcha day’ and it’s like he’s been with us all along.  

“Chewie keeps us active… we love to get out and explore! He keeps us laughing… sometimes he does some really silly things! And he gives the best cuddles! I mentioned that we adopted him, but his addition to our family actually saved me and we can’t imagine life without him.”
