“I adopted Duke the summer of 2021. When I first went to the center I wasn’t planning on taking a dog home. I was walking around the suites with my friend and she stopped at Duke’s kennel. He was so happy to see us and was smiling and wagging his tail. He was the cutest thing I had ever seen (and probably the biggest dog I had ever seen). I asked the staff if we could meet him and they were super helpful in helping me fill out an application. As soon as we met Duke, I knew he was coming home with me. An hour later we were on our way. 

He is the sweetest, smartest and most protective dog I have ever had. He didn’t know a lot of tricks when I first got him but he is such a quick learner (and is very food motivated). He is so lovable and thinks he’s a lap dog, he will sit on anybody’s lap and then look back and smile, waiting for them to pet him. He is also an absolute bed hog.

Dukey loves car rides, belly rubs, swimming, boat rides, sleeping, and anybody he meets. He has a costume for every holiday (cannot say he is a fan of this) and we have matching pajamas and shirts! He gets a birthday party and a “gotcha day” party every year with treats and presents. He is as spoiled as can be. I am so thankful for him, he is my very best friend and the very best thing that ever happened to me. I never knew I could love something as much as I love him.
