1,000 Paws of Great Falls – Ebony

“Four months after I had lost a rescue named Nora my other cat Maya was having a problem being alone.  I thought since she had been introduced to Nora she would get along with another cat.  I started looking at rescue sites and spied Ebony.  I stopped by to meet her.  I needed a non-aggressive cat because Maya’s previous owners had her declawed, plus she is on the small side.  I wanted Ebony because she would be hard to place, grown and black.

I met Ebony.  She wasn’t shy she was mad!  She was from a home where there were other cats and owner passed away.  I didn’t just look I brought her home that day.  I kept her separate talking to her every day.   She hid.   It took two months for her to let me touch her.  Maya broke into the room and proceeded to chase her all over the house.  I kept trying to introduce them.  It was noisy.  I found Ebony in a hiding spot and took her upstairs where it was safe.  I sat on the bed and ask her what could I do.  She marched right out from under the bed and meowed a list of complaints.  And has been friendly ever since. It took so much time!  I was about to admit failure.

I keep them separate in different bedrooms.   When it is time for Ebony to got to her room she goes up the stairs. She doesn’t like to be picked up or be touched around her tail or paws.  Maya is a thug!  I rescued her from my vet, she was a biter.  They run into one another occasionally.  Hissing and horrible language and the fastest cats on the planet running.

Ebony loves her Science Diet, her organic wheat grass and cat nip.  She loves to play with the laser and toys.  She loves to sit on my lap and nuzzle me and just started making biscuits.  Non-cat owners’ friends said to give her back.  That has never been an option!  I love both my lap junkies.  Ebony is a chill cat. She also loves her ears rubbed, and her neck scratched.”
