1,000 Paws of Great Falls – El Gatto

“In December 2020, my husband, son and I were making up our Christmas lists, and I put on mine that I wanted a big, fat, fluffy cat! It was decided, and we made our way to the adoption center.

We ended up meeting a big, long-haired boy named Gatto, and fell in love! We now call him El Gatto, and he is just the best cat! We have 2 boxers at home, so it was a little stressful at first, making sure everyone was going to get along, but they all seem to get along great! When we adopted him, he was a whopping 18 pounds! We decided we were going to try to slim him out, and put him on a diet food, limiting him to a quarter cup at feeding time, yet a year later he is the same exact weight! We might let him cheat a little, spoiling him with treats, but he is very active and healthy still; we have concluded he has big bones!

I have never owned a long hair cat, so I had to invest in a Furminator and other brushes to help control all the hair he has!

It was funny because it was all idea to add a cat into our family, and expected him to be mainly mine, but El Gatto has taking a real liking to my husband, and always seems to choose him over me! I always try to get him to come snuggle me at night time, yet Gatto always curls up right next to him! It is all okay though, we still love him dearly!”
