1,000 Paws of Great Falls – Felix

Felix is a 3 year old black cat that was at our Center from July 2020 to January 2021. Felix came in as a stray and was never claimed which I found odd because he was the sweetest boy ever. Felix became a favorite of the staff, as all of our long residents tend to do. We would let him out in the mornings and he would join our weekly staff meeting and distract us all from listening.

When we had Kid’s Camp he was always the cat we let the kiddos hang out with because he was perfect with them. We couldn’t quite figure out why he was here for so long because he was a fantastic cat. Finally, someone came in looking for a cat and they had no preference of who they wanted to meet. I had to have her meet Felix. I told her that she would probably fall in love with him once she meets him.

We entered Felix’s room and as we talked, Shelly, his potential adopter asked me “Are you sure you want me to adopt him? You seem like you love him a lot.” I explained to her that I couldn’t have a cat where I live and that I would love nothing more than to see Felix go home with her.

Shelly put her purse down on the floor as we talked more about his history and important information. After a couple minutes we looked back over and Felix was trying to sit inside her purse! I thought maybe he smelled something tasty, but no he actually just wanted to sit inside her purse.

So I told her “well, it looks like Felix is ready to go” and she said “let’s start the paperwork”. Felix is now happily living in his new home with a black lab and they are best friends. <3
