“We are a military family, so we had just moved to Montana from Alaska. I have anxiety and depression, and I knew I wanted to add a dog or cat to our family to help me with that. In the past, I had gone through something where I had to give up one of my dogs, and that left me very heart broken, so I was nervous to adopt another dog and have something happen again. I decided I would try looking for a cat, but I knew I didn’t want just any cat I wanted to have a connection to it. I was looking at the Maclean-Cameron’s website and saw a photo of a cat named Abbey and fell in love instantly. I basically decided just after seeing the photo that she was mine. Once we took her home, my toddler was calling her “Kiki” trying to pronounce kitty, and so we just kind of ended up calling her that! It fits, and she responds to it well! Kiki really is such a great addition to our family. We love her dearly, and she makes us so happy.”
