1,000 Paws of Great Falls – Jaxon
“I adopted Jaxon in September of 2021. The Maclean-Cameron Animal Adoption Center was amazing in helping me with my adoption experience. I didn’t even go in to find myself a dog, I was just having a tough time in life and figured I would go there and walk some dogs to give me something positive to do.
The gal at the front desk told me to ask my landlord just in case I ended up wanting a dog, and my landlord told me that it would be a great idea for me to adopt. I ended up with Jaxon that day! I was going through a really rough time last year after my mom had passed away, and was really needing someone in my life to give my love and affection to. Thankfully, my landlord recognized that and told me to get a dog.
I love getting home from long days of work to see his happy face and going on our nightly walks makes him and me happy. Although it was a little rough at first, once we warmed up to each other our lives together have been amazing. We recently moved to Las Vegas so he is enjoying the sun right now, although he sure loved playing in the snow too! Jaxon’s favorite activity is fetching with a ball, and to chew on any stick he gets his paws on.
Jax has grown up so much ever since I adopted him. The first few weeks he wanted to chew on everything while I was working, and I couldn’t get him to walk on the leash either for the first month or so. it wasn’t until after I got him neutered that he started trusting me, and realizing I was there for him.
He started getting excited for his walks, and getting into the car by himself. He will now follow me anywhere off-leash! We just celebrated his 2nd birthday the other week and I made him his own cake, which he loved of course.”
