1,000 Paws of Great Falls – Luna

“We hadn’t had a dog for over 25 years. Then in the summer of 2021, we felt it was time to get a puppy. Even though it had been three years since two of our kids had moved out, I still felt a void in my life and thought a puppy would help. We had gone and looked at some purebred German shepherd puppies and then realized that all of those puppies would probably find homes right away. So then we checked out the Maclean-Cameron Animal Adoption Center and saw Luna. She was shy and nervous and right away we knew we wanted her to feel safe and loved- we knew she was the one for us. She was only four months old and we took her home the next day and our adventures haven’t stopped since. Even though life was hectic and we had to make adjustments, Luna helps and makes us laugh every single day.  She is very protective of me, her mama, and doesn’t let people get too close to me. The vet says she is socially inept and there is only a very small group of people she trusts and lets near her. When we look at Luna we see how she loves us, we can’t help but think about how whoever passed up Luna slip through their fingers sure missed out on a good thing. Luna may be socially inept (and we are working on that) but she is our socially inept girl and she loves us just as much as we love her!”
