1,000 Paws of Great Falls – Maggie

“I adopted Maggie in the spring of 2019 while working at the Center. I’ve always been a cat person and I wasn’t really looking for a dog, but I fell in love with Maggie the moment she came through the doors as a stray. Maggie, like many strays, was never claimed. We made her available for adoption and it was only a few days before a someone wanted to meet her. When they decided they wanted to take Maggie home, my heart broke a little bit. I told myself, ‘This is the goal of the Center, this is a good thing.’ And that was that.

A little while later, Maggie came back through the doors. It turned out that Maggie wasn’t getting along with the dog already in the home, despite initial meetings between the two going well. To me, it felt like fate. I took Maggie home right then.

It’s been over two years since then, and I can’t imagine having a better dog. Maggie is sweet, loving, and fits right in with her cat-sister. I still don’t think I’m a dog person, but I’m definitely a Maggie person.”
