1,000 Paws of Great Falls – Nutmeg

“The week before I adopted Nutmeg, I had to put down my old pit bull, Monkey. I’d had her for 5 years and she was at the point where her body just couldn’t keep up with her anymore. At first, I planned on waiting a few weeks before looking for a new dog but after a couple of days being alone in my house, I knew I needed to look for a new pup. 

“I originally went to center to look at a different dog, but it didn’t go well when she met my parents’ dogs so they suggested I meet Nutmeg. I thought she was so goofy looking at first! She had been a stray so she was very skinny and had some mats in her hair, but she was still so cute and played really well with my parents’ dogs. I adopted her a couple days later, just a few days before Christmas 2020. She was the perfect gift. 

“She has been the perfect dog for me. She loves her daily walks, rope and squeaky toys, treats and playing with my parents’ dogs. She loves every person she meets and wants to be friends with every dog she sees. She isn’t the dog I planned on getting, but she ended up being the dog I needed. I think we saved each other.”
