1,000 Paws of Great Falls – Tuke

“Truth be told, I did not want another dog at the time, especially not a new puppy to train. We had just lost our 2 labs earlier in the year within 6 weeks of each other. But the kids talked me into going to the “Tales & Ales” fundraiser held at the Maclean Cameron that year because of covid, AND talked me into buying a raffle ticket for a chance to “win” one of the puppies! Sure enough, we were the 2nd ticket drawn.

So, Toby became Tuke (named after a moose in the movie “Brother Bear”). He has been the best dog I have ever had, and that is saying something after a couple of pretty amazing labs, we’ve been lucky enough to have had in the past.  Tuke is a big, cuddly baby. He loves his toys and tennis balls and is one of the best there is at playing fetch!  He plays well with other dogs and doesn’t seem to mind cats either. He does bark like a super protector sometimes but if it is something ‘scary’ (like deer antlers/mounts), he becomes a super chicken pretty quickly. He will sleep at my feet all night and travels regularly with me on long trips to ND. We had a DNA test done just out of curiosity and laughed pretty hard when it came back 37% “unknown”.

There truly will never be another Tuke and I cannot imagine life without him!”
