What is the MCAAC Pet Calendar Photo Contest?
This contest gives the opportunity to animal-lovers age 18 or older to enter their pet for a chance to win the cover or a month feature in the 2024 MCAAC Pet Calendar! The public will vote for their favorite pets. The “Top Pet” who receives the most votes will receive the front cover and one month feature of their choice in the calendar. The “Top 10” runners-up in votes will each receive one month feature in the calendar. The “Staff Favorite” will be selected by MCAAC staff withour regards to voting totals, and will receive one month feature in the calendar.
How much is the entry fee?
$5 towards homeless animals = One Entry.
How many photos can I enter?
One photo per entry and each pet requires its own entry. Multiple entries for a single pet are allowed BUT we don’t recommend it- Votes from each entry will remain separate and will not be added together. If a single pet has two entries that place for a prize, the lesser standing prize will be forfeited.
How many pets can I enter?
You may enter as many pets as you wish. Keep in mind that votes from each of your pets will remain separate and will not be added together.
How will my pet be judged/voted on?
It is the opinion of MCAAC that the voting public will be judging entries on the quality of the image, the quality of the story explaining how this pet improves the contestant’s life, and how well the image captures the life-enhancing qualities of the pet.
Will the photo that I submit be used in the calendar if I win?
Yes! Be certain that your photo meets our Calendar Photography Requirements to ensure your pet’s photo is eligible to be featured in our calendar- you can review them here.

When can I vote?
Voting will open at 12:00 AM (MST) on July 1, 2023 and close at 12:00 AM (MST) on September 1, 2023. To be notified when voting opens, click here.
How does voting work?
$5 towards animals in need = One Vote. You may vote for as many pets as you like, as many times as you like!
How do I know if I won a prize?
All prize winners will be contacted on September 2, 2023 to be notified of their prize. (Via phone and/or email.)
Can I guarantee a spot for my pet in the calendar?
