Calendar Contest Entry Rules and Terms

Entry Rules and Requirements

• $5 is required per entry; One pet per entry.
• Cats and dogs only (since we’re a cat and dog center!) BUT pets do not need to have been adopted from the MCAAC to enter.
• Pet must be entered by legal owner or with permission of legal owner.
• Photo should include the entered pet only- One pet per photo with no people. (So we know who we’re voting for!)
• Multiple entries for a single pet are allowed BUT we don’t recommend it. Votes from all entries will remain separate and will not be added together. Only one photo from a single pet may be considered a winner. (If two entries from the same pet place for a prize, the lesser standing entry will be forfeited.)
• Any images and descriptions deemed inappropriate by the MCAAC will be removed immediately without opportunity for a refund and entrant will be disqualified from the contest.
• All entries must be received by 12:00 AM (MST) on Friday September 1, 2023 to be included in the contest.

Calendar Photography Requirements:

• Photos are intended for use in the 2024 MCAAC Pet Calendar. If a winner’s photo does not meet photo requirements, entrant will be asked to provide a new photo. Specifications are listed below:
  • Horizontal (3300 px by 2550 px minimum)
  • Full Color
  • 300 dpi resolution or higher.
• Photos must be original, digital copies and must not contain doodles, stickers, or copyrighted materials.
• Photo submissions must be creative property of entrant or permitted for use by creative property owner. (Snap your own photo, or be sure to ask your photographer for permission to use theirs!)
• Once entered, entrant grants permission to Maclean-Cameron Animal Adoption Center to use photo for print and marketing purposes.

Description Requirements

• 50 words maximum.
• Descriptions will be included with each entrant’s photo for voting. Descriptions are meant to tell voters how their pet (the pet in the photo) has enhanced their life.

Terms of Use and Limitation of Liability

Use of Images

When you enter the “MCAAC 2024 Pet Calendar Contest”, you verify that the photograph is original, that you are the sole owner and copyright holder of that photograph, and that you have not granted exclusive rights of that photograph to any other person or entity. All photos entered into the Contest cannot have been entered into any other organization’s photo contest where you have lost the rights of ownership to the picture. You also verify that the photograph does not invade the right of privacy of any individual, does not infringe any trademark, trade name, trade secret, intellectual property right, or other common law or statutory right, nor does it contain any material that otherwise violates any criminal prohibition or the personal or proprietary rights of any person or entity.

By entering the “MCAAC 2024 Pet Calendar Contest”, you agree to grant to MCAAC, its legal representatives, successors, and assigns, the nonexclusive right and permission to use, modify, adapt, reproduce, publish, and distribute the photograph, or any portion thereof, throughout the world, in any printed form and by any kind of mechanical or electronic or any other method or device of reproduction, publication, and distribution known or later developed, during the full term of the copyright, and without notification or payment, whether in connection to the “MCAAC 2024 Pet Calendar Contest” or otherwise. MCAAC agrees to attribute authorship and copyright ownership to you when it publishes and distributes the photograph you submitted. MCAAC also agrees that it will never sell the photograph or rights in the photograph to any individual or entity.

Use of Descriptions

When you enter the “MCAAC 2024 Pet Calendar Contest”, you verify that the description of how your pet improves your life is original, that you are the sole author and copyright holder of the description, and that you have not granted exclusive rights in that description to any other person or entity. You also verify that the description contains no defamatory material or injurious instructions, does not invade the right of privacy of any individual, does not infringe any trademark, trade name, trade secret, intellectual property right, or other common law or statutory right; nor does it contain any material that otherwise violates any criminal prohibition or the personal or proprietary rights of any person or entity.

You also agree to grant to MCAAC, its legal representatives, successors, and assigns, the nonexclusive right and permission to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and distribute the description, or any portion thereof, throughout the world, in any printed form and by any kind of mechanical or electronic or any other method or device of reproduction, MCAAC, and distribution known or later developed, during the full term of the copyright, and without notification or payment, as part of and in connection with the “MCAAC 2024 Pet Calendar Contest“. MCAAC will not use your description for any purposes not connected with the “MCAAC 2024 Pet Calendar Contest”. MCAAC will never sell the description or rights in the description to any individual or entity. MCAAC agrees to attribute authorship and copyright ownership to you when it publishes and distributes the description you submitted.

Additional Terms

By accepting the terms of placement in the “MCAAC 2024 Pet Calendar Contest”, the winner consents to MCAAC use of his or her name, likeness, voice, and/or biographical information for promotional and other purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. The winner acknowledges compliance with these Rules and agrees to release MCAAC, its affiliates, and its officers, directors, employees, independent contractors, representatives, and agents from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or the receipt, redemption, or use of any prize, including any injuries or damages of any kind sustained in connection with the use, acceptance, possession, or awarding of any prize.

Limitation of Liability

MCAAC is not responsible for printing, typographical, human, or other errors of any kind in any Contest-related materials or for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible entries. If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, or infection by computer viruses, bugs, or tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, actions of entrants, technical failures, or any other causes corrupt or infect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, MCAAC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any entry or entrant and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest and at its sole discretion. By entering, all Contestants agree that the Contest is governed by laws of the State of Montana for the resolution of all claims and disputes (excluding any claims against or disputes involving parties other than MCAAC relating to the Contest).
