Sawyer began her time with the MCAAC as a camper at one of our Kids’ Camps, but when she heard about our volunteer opportunities, she jumped at the chance! Together with her mom, Sawyer has put in a total of 30 hours of v olunteer time in just 6 months. She is a gr eat example of what our y outh today should aspire to be, and at just 10- years-old she shows an astounding work ethic and a great love for animals. Even though she has her own pets at home, Sawyer still dedicates much of her free time to the homeless animals her e at the Center. You can often find Sawyer cuddling the cats and dogs, from our young puppies and kittens to our (sometimes grouchy) senior residents. Not only is Sawyer devoted to providing much-needed enrichment to the animals in our care, but she isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. Sawyer cleans kennels, does dishes and laundry, and is always willing to help wherever we need her.
Sawyer is a great assistant to our staff, and we are so thankful that she chooses to spend her time with us!
